TCP/Connect IIツョ for Macintosh is a versatile software package for the Appleツョ Macintoshツョ that offers connectivity tools such as terminal emulation, file transfer, electronic mail, and USENET news. It implements several TCP/IP-based protocols including telnet, the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), and the Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP). TCP/Connect II is available in four different editions.
ツ This manual is written for users who are familiar with basic
Macintosh operations. If you do not understand basic
interface concepts, such as using the mouse, opening files, or
copying files, please refer to the user guide that was
included with your Macintosh.

TCP/Connect II for Macintosh entitles you to notifications of
upgrades, product announcements, and technical support.

1.1 What You Need
This section covers the basic requirements of TCP/Connect II for Macintosh.
1.1.1 Hardware
This section describes the basic hardware requirements of TCP/Connect II for Macintosh.
TCP/Connect II requires the following hardware:
窶「 A Macintosh SE or later model
窶「 5 megabytes of RAM
窶「 An appropriate connection to your TCP/IP network if you plan
to use TCP/Connect II on a network. This includes LocalTalk,
Ethernet, Token Ring, Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP),
Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), or Fiber Distributed Data
Interface (FDDI).
1.1.2 Software
This section describes the basic software requirements of TCP/Connect II for Macintosh.
TCP/Connect II requires the following software:
窶「 Macintosh System Software
You must have version 7 or later. InterCon strongly
recommends that you use the most recent system version
available.
窶「 Hardware Drivers
If you are using an Ethernet device, install the driver software
provided by the manufacturer and select the proper settings in
the Network configuration panel.
ツ Hardware drivers are not required for serial connections or
if you are using TCP/Connect II without a network
connection.

To use electronic mail, the following are required on your server
